Tim Hudson returns for 3rd season as Spiders NBL1 men’s Head Coach
The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Spiders are thrilled to have Tim Hudson back on board as the head coach of the NBL1 men’s team for the 2026 season. Over the past two seasons, Hudson has helped to build the club’s NBL1 program and hopes to guide the side to its best season in the NBL1 era.
Tim has extensive experience in all areas of basketball, including as both a player and assistant coach for the Sydney Kings. In 2003 Hudson won an NBL Championship with the Sydney Kings, coached by Brian Goorjian. That same year he was the leading scorer in the Waratah League Championship.
After his playing career Hudson coached at some of the top high school programs in NSW including Waverley, Newington, Abbotsleigh and Barker. Starting in 2011, he coached Central Coast Crusaders Waratah League Championship men for four seasons. At the same time he served as an assistant coach, then as the head of basketball operations at the Sydney Kings, for a total of 6 years on the sidelines for the NBL club.
In 2024 the Hornsby Ku-ring-rai were lucky to get Hudson on board as the Head of Senior Basketball and NBL1 Men’s head coach. After two seasons at the club he has helped to improve the culture, establish a strong seniors program and improve on court results immensely.
CEO of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Spiders, Alex Fabian said “We are so grateful to have Tim continue the adventure with us in 2026 as NBL1 Men’s HC. Tim has been an integral part of our NBL1 program and wider Association for the past years. The mentorship Tim has continued to provide to Spiders players has been so valuable to so many.”
